Eco-Energy Initiative

Mini Biogas System

Project Overview

This project introduces students to renewable energy through the design and construction of a small-scale biogas system for hostel organic waste. Working collaboratively with partner schools, learners explored sustainable waste management, renewable energy technologies, and environmental conservation while supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Learning Outcomes

  • Explain the concept, principles and environmental benefits of biogas production.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of anaerobic digestion and renewable energy.
  • Collaborate in designing, constructing and monitoring a mini biogas system.
  • Analyse waste input and gas output to evaluate system efficiency.
  • Promote sustainability through reports, campaigns and presentations.
  • Reflect on renewable energy solutions in Nigeria, India and the United States.
